Some people love HOAs, some people hate them, and some people have no idea what they are. The biggest reason for creating a homeowner association is to increase property values. Through maintaining communal areas and enforcing rules and regulations, property values can go up over time. HOAs keep the overall community looking nice and keep the home somewhat standard to the others. Most HOAs are established in planned communities and developments. The biggest advantage of a homeowners association most people say, is the shared common areas within the community. Most associations have pools, clubhouses, volleyball courts, and other amenities that one could not afford or aquire on their own. Luckily, anyone living in the community can take advantage of these comforts. The HOA makes sure people are taking care of their home and keeping the neighborhood clean and consistent.
